I used the granulated Xylitol in a lowfat lemon cheesecake.
WOW!!!! The sweetness was comparable to that of sugar.
It satisfied this type 2 diabetic's sweet tooth.

This is the best natural sweetener I have used. And I have used many sweeteners...nutrasweet, splenda, stevia, sweet and low. Xylitol has NO aftertaste, and can be used in place of sugar. I also use it in cooking, baking, in tea, and on my cereal with some cinnamon. It is wonderful, and I love that it is natural and I can let my three year old have some of it too, unlike the nutrasweet, etc. It does warn of a laxative effect, but in my opinion you have to eat a LOT of it to get to that point. So don't let that scare you into not trying it. If using it to bake/cook with, use less than the sugar called for. I found it to be sweeter than sugar, so less of it was needed.
