Hemp Seeds
  • Organic 8 oz.

As one of the earliest foods to be used by humans, hemp seeds have long been recognized as an excellent source of energy. With a rich nutty flavor that is reminiscent of a sunflower seed, Navitas Naturals Hemp Seeds are pre-shelled, soft, and delicious. They can be eaten straight from the bag; sprinkled on top of vegetables, soups, yogurt, and cereals; mixed into baked recipes; or blended into a gourmet nut butter. This remarkable superfood is an excellent protein source - with eight grams of protein per 2 tablespoons- and contains all ten essential amino acids, making it a complete protein. Hemp also offers a perfect balance of Omega 3, 6, and 9 (the Essential Fatty Acids), and is a good source of magnesium, iron, zinc, and potassium.

These hempseeds are sourced from premium growers in Canada, where they are harvested and then hulled. Navitas Naturals Hemp Seeds are raw, kosher, gluten-free, vegan, and 100% organic.

Navitas Naturals shelled Hemp Seeds have a soft texture, look a bit like sesame seeds, and have a nutty flavor like sunflower seeds. You can snack on them straight from the bag, or boost the nutrition and flavor of any meal by sprinkling them on just about anything including granola, yogurt and salads. You can blend them into soups and dips, or add them to baking recipes in place of other soft seeds. They're also ideal as a smoothie ingredient, or blended into a gourmet nut butter.

Berry Garcia Smoothie

Ready to Rock Cereal

Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Break the rice cakes into large pieces over a bowl, and place the contents in a food processor. Use the pulse function on the machine several times to grind into cereal-size chunks. Add the raisins, almonds, hemp seeds, maca, dark chocolate, and cacao nibs and pulse several more times to combine. Remove the mixture from the processor and place back in the large bowl. Set aside.
Back inside the food processor (no need to clean it out), add the dates, almond butter, coconut oil and agave nectar. Blend until as smooth as possible - it's not a problem if a few chunks from the dates remain. Use a spatula or knife to extract the wet mixture from the processor and add it into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix/knead the ingredients together into a sticky, evenly coated cereal. Divide the mixture between the two prepared baking sheets, and spread out across the surface of each of the pans into a flat layer. Place the sheets into the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool before serving. Store in an airtight container when not in use. Makes about 6 cups.
