Protein powders are useful to supplement your diet with a high quality protein

Hydrolyzation is a process breaking large peptides into smaller ones.
It is sometimes referred to as "pre-digested".
Regular undigested whey will be broken down into di- and tri-peptides
via enzymes in the gut and will be absorbed, but the process takes a
while. Hydrolyzation is useful when protein delivery is needed very
quickly so the body doesn't have to require the time and enzymes doing it.
The benefit is of having a quickly absorbed protein immediately after
a workout to ensure the muscle tissue is flooded with nutrients in a
timely manner.

I'm going to make an educated guess and say that this protein is probably one of the most popular whey proteins being sold today - and with good reason. It's a simple formula of concentrate/isolate protein. It tastes good. It mixes easily (trust me, others don't). It's reasonably priced. I've seen everyone from bodybuilders to boxers supplementing with this brand. The truth is that pure whey is relatively easy to cull from milk, and it is relatively easy to maintain good quality, so the production costs are not very high. By its very nature it is not an incredibly difficult or technical process. This makes you wonder why a thousand other brands are marketing their whey as "pharmaceutical grade" and charging twice as much. 100% NATURAL Whey Protein is a good value.

I've been using this product for a decade. While other products often clump up or overly thicken unless a blender is employed, Optimum Nutrition's proteins dissolve even under the mere persuasion of a spoon in a glass. Vanilla tastes great with OJ or milk, chocolate works great with water or milk (and I sometimes add fortified peanut butter too for a taste treat) Great product and the best value for your dollar, too. A one-two punch that can't be beat.
I drink this everyday with soy milk and a few pieces of frozen fruit, holds my hunger away for about 3 hours. No after taste and the flavor is good, like it better than the vanilla. I do not like chocolate so wouldn't even try that.

highly recommend: banana cream, caramel toffe fudge (little bit aftertaste though but my favorite), double rich chocolate, extreme milk choc., cookies n cream

This powder mixes easily without a blender and doesn't clump up like most powders. Of all the powders I have tried, this is the easiest to mix. Both vanilla and chocolate flavor taste good. Also, fewer carbs compared to most other mixes.
I bought this product because I had found it nearly impossible to get the 45-52 grams of protein that is recommended that a 5'2" person should get a day. I was averaging between 30 and 37 grams a day prior to getting this product. That was the ONLY reason I bought the product.
To my surprise, 3 weeks after taking this product (just one scoop gave me the extra 15 grams I needed)my cardiovascular out-put went up sharply. I work out on an Airodyne bike (upper and lower body workout) and for the last 2 years I had only been able to do 16 to 17 miles in 65 minutes. Suddenly, out of the blue, I found myself doing 19 miles in 65 minutes! I have done nothing different-except added the protein. Suddenly, I can do 2 to 3 miles MORE in the same time. I must admit, I was stunned! It HAD TO BE that I finally was getting the recommended daily requirement for protein. wow!
By the way-it tastes great!
The biological value of any dietary protein is related to the efficiency of its digestion and utilization.
The digestibility of a dietary protein depends on intestinal health and intestinal motility (how quickly
food travels down the intestine). In a healthy person, intestinal motility is contingent upon emotional
and physical stress, as well as foods and chemicals. For example, cheese slows intestinal motility and
caffeine increases motility. Increased motility decreases digestive efficiency which wastes protein and
promotes an unhealthy environment.
Biological value is also related to a protein's amino acid profile (combinations of amino acids).
Once protein is digested, the amino acids are absorbed and their function as energy substrates (metabolites)
or building blocks begins. From this point, caloric intake and physical activity influence how amino
acids are used. Protein is not simply protein. That is to say, not all proteins are alike, nor will
they produce the same metabolic effects.
Acquiring calories is NOT a problem for most Americans, as their weights attest. On the contrary,
most Americans eat too many calories and consume combinations of macronutrients which favor fat production
and storage. However, if lean body mass is the goal and fat mass is to be minimized, the macronutrient
ratio must reflect low-fat, higher protein and moderate carbohydrate consumption. Specific amino acid

I have been using VP2 Vanilla for several years and continue to re-order. It mixes well in oatmeal and shakes. I always mix my shakes in the blender, so cannot comment on how well it mixes in a shaker. No after taste that I've ever noticed and it is easy on the stomach (lactose free). Every now and again I try to save a few dollars and try something else, but always end up going back to VP2!
The Mocha Cappuccino flavor is delicious. Very creamy tasting. I was going to order a second bottle but ordered a different brand just to try something new. I should have stayed with this, as it's the much better tasting protein.
I have tried probably a dozen protein powders and have settled on VP2 since it has the best taste (as does EAS Myoplex). VP2 is also a good price for the amount of protein per serving. It mixes very easily, although it is thin, not thick like some of the others - which I prefer.

Pro Blend 55 is a truly great-tasting, easily-mixable and eaily-digestable product. I've been using it for six years and have never found anything that I would consider supplementing with over it.
Pro Blend is by far the highest quality protein blend I have ever used. As a trainer for many years, and having worked with top athletes for years, there is no better product that matches the absorbability and digestibility of this very high quality product.

Been using Designer whey for a little over a year. Tried the vanilla first and it was OK. Got a little tough to take after a while but that was more out of taste monotony than anything. Next was the chocolate and it just blew me away! I almost feel guilty drinking it. It is that good. This is one of the best tasting protein drinks I have had. Not only that, it is very satisfying and curbs my hunger too. I use 2 scoops with 8 ounces of no fat milk and 4 ounces of water, throw in a couple ice cubes, and blend very briefly. It is the best!! That gives me about 50 grams of protein alone. I've also thrown in various fruit/peanut butter for a change of pace, but I love it alone!
