These bars absorb quickly in the body and give you sustained energy for 6 to 8 hours. For people who have severe hypoglycemia or people who are prone to activity induced hypoglycemia these bars are a perfect pre-performance food and a terrific rescue food. As a pre-performance food these bars have the perfect ratio of protein to carbohydrates with a low amount of calories so that a person's energy levels stay consistent for a long period of time without causing you to crash. As a rescue food these bars are perfect because they absorb quickly in the body and give sustained energy for hours. These bars are a perfect treat for severe hypoglycemics who need to eat six to eight meals a day. They are low in calories. If eaten by themselves the bars have the perfect protein to carbohydrate ratio which will give you sustained energy for hours thus preventing life threatening blood sugar crashes and reducing the amount of times that you need to eat during the day. If you are a severe hypoglcemic who has severe blood sugar crashes at night 1/2 a bar immediately before bed will be enough to sustain your blood sugar until you wake up in the morning therefore making it easier to get up in the morning.
