June 23, 2013Reviewer: Stacey in Iowa* Excellent tasting and easily mixed. Very good price. This review is specific to Whey Isolate, Chocolate
March 08, 2012Reviewer: Kenneth in New York* Similar to other brands in taste and mixability (good taste, requires a shaker cup or blender) but CHEAPER and no artificial colors like many of them. (I don't need my protein drink to be bright green, we aren't 10 year olds). Kudos to Cytosport for using natural food coloring here.
The Sour Apple flavor is fantastic! It tastes like pressed apple cider (made from the whole apple). It is surprisingly good, more like tangy than sour. A little bit sour I guess, like genuine apple cider. Apple is an unusual flavor for a protein powder, and they nailed it here. The Orange flavor tastes like a weak orange-ade, mild flavor but easy to drink, (natural). Pineapple Banana is very good, more or less (only cheaper). I didn't like the Blue Raspberry at all, I didn't care for that one. Not sure how to describe the flavor problem there, though. Those are the only flavors I've tried so far. Because it's 100% whey isolate, it's easy to digest and doesn't give me gas, etc. Recommended!
I am surprised that I am the first reviewer. Try the Pineapple Banana or Sour Apple, use a shaker cup with some ice, one or two scoops of powder, fill half way with water and shake, wait a few minutes for foam to subside, add more water to taste and continue shaking. If you don't overfill the shaker with water and wait for the foam to go away, you can get very good results with minimal clumping.
