March 26, 2021Reviewer: patricia in North Carolina* I have tried a lot of different brands and great low-carb company makes my favorite breads! I have tried most of them and have not been disappointed but my go to is definitely the sourdough. They also make fantastic bagels.

February 15, 2021Reviewer: A customer in Florida* I love Cinnamon Raisin bread and was thrilled to find it in a Keto version. Let's be honest, Keto products seldom match up to the real thing; however, this is quite tasty when toasted. It has the all of the flavors correctly, and the texture is pretty good. What I do love are the pumpernickel bagels. I have tried several Keto brand bagels and none of them made me as happy as these. Even finding pumpernickel as a choice was amazing and these are really pretty good. I have re-ordered them many times and always make certain to have a supply in the freezer.

January 19, 2021Reviewer: A customer in Pennsylvania* I'm new to the low carb world, and I'm not a huge bread eater but every now and then I crave a good 'ole sandwich. I must say I'm impressed with the flavor and texture of this bread. I purchased the thin everything and it's quite tasty. This is a great alternative to "regular" bread. This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Everything

November 14, 2020Reviewer: Linda in Massachusetts* Really good for low carb. The slices are on the small side, but I'm guessing it's to help keep the carbs down. High in protein, too, which I need on my diet. Feels good to be able to have a slice of bread. This review is specific to Bread, Sourdough

October 30, 2020Reviewer: Nancy in Ohio* This is a wonderful bread! It’s like eating a real slice of bread. I use it for grilled sammichs, and in place of hamburger buns. I really missed grilled cheese and this allows me to indulge once in a while. I love the sesame seeds and the flavor and texture are spot on. All in all I’m impressed to find a bread that doesn’t taste like cardboard. This review is specific to Bread, Sesame

October 03, 2020Reviewer: Annette in North Carolina* Great product! Eating low carb can get boring at times, but having this tasty bread is a BIG plus and it is nice to have toast with breakfast. I am especially glad that it now comes "thin sliced" as it makes for a much smaller "sandwich".

1 of 1 people found the following review helpfulSeptember 22, 2020Reviewer: Sandra in New York* This is the closest to “real” bread we have found. I try to keep a loaf of a few different kinds in my freezer always. Makes great toast!! Makes great sandwiches... Keto is definitely easier with this bread! Our favs are: Sesame, sourdough, plain, rye, everything. Then I use the thin sliced to cut season and spray with oil and bake til crisp - making our “crackers” or “tortilla chips”. These are wonderful with dips, salsa, guacamole, cheese .... sky’s the limit!
-
September 21, 2020Reviewer: Rhonda in Pennsylvania* This product is definitely the most "like" bread that I had, however, it's a little hard to swallow- thick like in your mouth. -
August 14, 2020Reviewer: David in Massachusetts* I have purchased both the thin sliced and the regular sliced bread I enjoy them both but I feel the thin sliced bread is a little bit thin to make a sandwich with and then to take to work it can tend to become a little soggy during the day I believe that is best used at home the regular slice bread is fantastic to make a sandwich and take it to work with you I will still purchase both of them I would just use the thin sliced at home to save the calories and I will take the thick-sliced when I need a sandwich to go

July 19, 2020Reviewer: A customer in California* So far it's a hit with me! Couldn't wait and had a slice with butter and it was okay. Then made a grilled cheese and it was the bomb! The bread gets crispier when fried for grilled cheese but I like that. Have the thin-sliced and it is indeed very thin, but a grilled cheese barely budged my blood sugar. I was dx'ed diabetic in 2011 and have not had a grilled cheese since then. Have made several bread substitutes but nothing that would be suitable for a grilled cheese. This is the perfect solution. Yum!
Haven't tried for a sandwich but think the regular-sized slice would be better for that. I just wanted the lowest carb possible and see these small grilled cheese as the perfect snack also. Getting a couple more loafs for the freezer.

July 16, 2020Reviewer: A customer in California* The loaf is very small for such a high price. That said, it's nice to have bread to make grilled cheese sandwiches. You can't look at this like fresh bread, because it's a week old by the time you get it. But you can freeze it and use it for toast and grilled breads. Too expensive for everyday use but nice to have once in a while. This review is specific to Bread, Sourdough

July 01, 2020Reviewer: Amy in California* Yesssss. The thin sliced bread is where it's at. The taste and texture are pretty good, better than nearly every other low carb bread I've tried (and I've tried a lot of them). The thin slices, though, make this a 5-star product. Not only is the carb count SUPER low, but it makes the loaf last longer, and keto bread is $$, so that ends up saving a lot of money in the long run (particularly if your significant other has a nightly PB&J habit). This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Plain
-
June 25, 2020Reviewer: Sue in Indiana* Being diabetic 1, I watch my carbs very closely. I tried the sourdough and thin sliced rye. Thin being 1 sourdough piece cut into two very thin slices. Other than the cost, both are delicious and satisfy me desire for bread. They are kept frozen, so they last until all gone. .. I highly recommend all kinds of this low carb bread.
-
June 23, 2020Reviewer: Elsa in California* Great tasting low carb bread -- a winner if you're on a keto diet and missing bread. I ordered 3 loaves of thin slice. When bread arrived, I lost about 5 slices to mold, but all the rest were 5 star. Great for a keto sandwich. I'll be a regular customer. This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Plain

2 of 2 people found the following review helpfulJune 20, 2020Reviewer: richard in Ohio* I loved the everything bread and the thin slicing. I froze 5 of the six loaves. I was disappointed that the last 6 slices developed mold after 5 days, In the future I will only take out 1/2 of a loaf out of the freezer at a time. It’s a mainstay in my low carb lifestyle. June 05, 2020Reviewer: Sandra in New York* I had high hopes, but this was sadly disappointing. This "cinnamon" bread needs A LOT more cinnamon flavoring. Was going to buy another flavor, now I may not do so.This review is specific to Bread, Cinnamon

May 30, 2020Reviewer: Joanna in New York* This bread has a good flavor but it's not soft. I find that it is best used for grilled cheese since it's too chewy for regular sandwiches. May 21, 2020Reviewer: Deanna in Virginia* This bread is amazing. The carbs are low and I feel good after eating it. I do not get that sluggish, bloated feeling that comes with eating regular bread. I love the flavor of sourdough but along enjoy the multi-grain.
I'm ordering the thin sliced my second time around as I really only need to hold sandwich together.

May 20, 2020Reviewer: edie in California* I got the sourdough version and had high hopes, based on all the good reviews. Well, IMHO the only similarity this has to bread is it's shape. Not only was there no hint of sourdough but it's totally tasteless, like eating a thick piece of paper, unseasoned, not even a bit of salt. I'm amazed at how our taste buds can be so different and how it's possible that I ate the same thing as all the 4-5 star reviews. I'm happy for the company that they have so many fans, unfortunately I'm not one of them. Will never buy this again.

May 15, 2020Reviewer: Marlys in Iowa* I like the taste of this bread. I have the thin sliced and it is thin but it holds up to a sandwich. Can't toast it because it's too thin but that's okay with me.This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Everything

May 14, 2020Reviewer: A customer in New York* Slices are very thin and after roasting the bread gets very hard. But satisfies my craving for something crunchy.
-
May 10, 2020Reviewer: Casey in Washington* I believe I have, at this point, ordered around 100 loaves of this over the last 18 months or so. I've tried to sample every keto bread replacement sold on Netrition, as well as Sola, and the Franz keto bread product.
I consider the Franz bread the best, but GCLB is the second for taste+net carbs combined.
1. Taste - GCLB is inoffensive and fairly bland, but I don't eat a slice of bread by itself.
2. Texture - GCLB is, again, inoffensive and not unpleasant. It is "softish," and this matters more to me than taste. Want a solid piece of bread? Toast it a moment.
3. Dryness - GCLB is a very dry bread, I always need water or I'll just run out of saliva. Most bread replacements suffer from dryness, but this is particularly true here.
4. Toasting - grading on a curve, it is second best. It hardens, it tastes closer to a half-bread/half-cracker. I like it a lot. It DOES NOT BROWN well, if it's changing colors, it may just be burning. This is a aesthetic, so no problem for me.
5. Price - ouch. When I first started getting GLCB, it was $7.50 per loaf, now $8.50. It is the most expensive here, and is priced like Sola (which is a slightly sweet, softer bread with 3 net carbs per slice - making the carbs less attractive). If ever I can get Franz, reliably, I'll likely make the shift. But it hasn't gotten a ton of traction.
Overall, it's good. But pricey.

May 06, 2020Reviewer: Tami in Ohio* I love the thin sliced everything flavor the best. I use it for grilled cheese. But it makes wonderful crispy toast for spreading with homemade guac, or ham salad too. I have tried all the flavors and I like them all.

March 02, 2020Reviewer: A guest* I found the cinnamon bread to be too sweet and did not taste any cinnamon. I also wonder why the slices are so thin. This makes them very hard to toast. I think the cinnamon should be visable so one can taste it. Otherwise it is a good alternative to regular bread but too thin for a sandwich. Editors note: Customer ordered the Thin Sliced Bread. If you don't want the thin sliced, order the regular bread. This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Cinnamon

February 26, 2020Reviewer: Larence in Florida* Pumpernickel. I was craving a Reuben and when I saw this, I had to try. My previous attempts at low carb bread were not good. But I took this out frozen, toasted it just enough to thaw it. Loaded it with corned beef, swiss cheese and lightly toasted it with butter on a griddle. Topped with sauerkraut and just a tiny bit of Thousand Island and it was very good. The size of the bread is small, but when you are craving bread, this was the ticket for me.This review is specific to Bread, Pumpernickel

January 29, 2020Reviewer: Jennie in Louisiana* I'm obsessed with this bread. My favorite way to use it is to toast it in a toaster, then set it in a small pat of butter in a skillet; add shredded cheese on top then top it off with two scrambled eggs which melts the cheese. Putting it in that butter after toasting it - it gets the most incredible texture, like that of the very best grilled cheese. I'm a huge fan and keep it stocked.

December 06, 2019Reviewer: Gay Lea in Missouri* Not bad for low carb bread. Flavor is good. Loaf is a bit smaller than expected for the $, however weight wise it is a lb. loaf. November 27, 2019Reviewer: Ruth in Florida* This bread tastes like rye bread, which I love. I bought it because I thought it was gluten free and low carb, but it's just low carb, so my husband couldn't eat it. However, it does taste really good. My only con is that the slices are too thin. I know they want to keep the carb count down, but the count is so low that they could have made each slice twice the thickness. But, I will buy this again. Loved having regular sandwiches. This review is specific to Bread, Plain

October 26, 2019Reviewer: virginia in Massachusetts* If you try to keep it in perspective, that this is NOT whole grain delicious bread, and it is solely used on Low carb diet, then it's do-able. My go to is the Sourdough, but you need to doctor it up...I put cream cheese, SF honey and sprinkle pumpkin or sunflower seeds. It's pretty good. I usually make my own fathead dough flatbread, which is delicious, but, just wanted to have a regular piece of bread. I'd say, make your own fathead dough bread. August 15, 2019Reviewer: Tina in California* Oh how I miss the chewy texture of bread. I've made Keto bread so many times, but they were either too dense with no chew factor or the taste of vinegar or egg was too prominent. This alleviated my bread craving and...I can have a PB&J with no guilt! The only downside I have is that this product does spoil quickly because there are no preservatives (may be a good thing, actually). I purchased two loaves and 1 arrived spoiled. Customer service with Netrition.com was AWESOME! They sent a replacement right away and that arrived in perfect condition. If you live on the West Coast, I highly recommend two day shipping for faster. This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Plain

August 02, 2019Reviewer: Debbie in New Jersey* Tastes like sawdust. Must be froze upon receipt. Toasted from frozen is inedible. Nuked for 15 seconds turn this "bread" to barely tolerable. Nuked then toasted doesn't help either. Too expensive & flavorless. This review is specific to Bread, Rye

Recently I purchased some different types (cinnamon and pumpernickel) and have enjoyed those also. This review is specific to Bread, Plain

July 09, 2019Reviewer: Vicky in Georgia* It's so nice to have a sandwich again. I love the thin-sliced rye. It has great flavor and a good texture. The plain is better for a grilled cheese. April 14, 2019Reviewer: Alicia in New York* This bread tastes just like regular bread; however, the thin slice was too thin and had holes throughout the bread making it difficult to apply condiments. But overall, this is a great bread replacement if you're on Keto diet.
My advice is to stick to the normal sliced bread.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpfulApril 11, 2019Reviewer: Stacy in California* This bread does not taste good on it's own, but it doesn't suck. This is not a slice of bread you'd want to eat on it's own, but the loaf I got had a great, soft texture. The bread is very thin but it's sturdier than it looks. I used it as a burger bun and it held up surprisingly well. If you put a moisture protecting barrier on the bread, and wetter ingredients in the interior, I think you'll be very happy with the results. Filled with tasty ingredients, the bread blended with my burger with no off flavors. I am definitely now a fan because I ate a 60 calorie, 1 net carb burger bun and I liked it. Who knew? I bet it would work as a grilled cheese sandwich, peanut butter and jelly with some of Natures Hollow delicious sugar free strawberry preserves, a dressing base for turkey and dressing at Thanksgiving, a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich with a little melted cheese as a moisture barrier, etc. I gave it a 5 because it overperformed. I could taste it but it helped my burger and it actually worked as a tasty bread when eaten with what I put on it, something I can't say about all of the low carb breads I've tried. This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Plain

March 24, 2019Reviewer: James in California* This was my first time trying sourdough from this company. I tried toasting it and topping with a fried egg and ham. I found the bread to be too hard and bland in taste. The texture and taste detracted so much that I ended up only eating the toppings. I then tried the bread with nut butter. I had to throw it out after my first bite. I will try toasting with butter or a cheese slice. If neither works, I will throw out the rest of the loaf. This review is specific to Bread, Sourdough

March 17, 2019Reviewer: Crystal in New York* I bought 2 loafs of bread (plain and cinnamon), as well as bagels, hotdog, and burger buns. I am super impressed with these products.
I have used the plain bread for sandwiches. I let 2 pieces thaw, lightly toast, and then load up with chicken, bacon, avocado, and cheese. The bread holds up well then traditional loafs, which is great.
I used the cinnamon bread for French toast, topped with some sugar free syrup and hand whipped cream.
I used the bagels to build a breakfast sandwich, again, toasting lightly, and loading up with a fried egg, cheese, and sausage or bacon.
Breakfast foods and sandwiches are my favorite things to eat, and the biggest struggle of switching to a low-carb/ketogenic lifestyle for health reasons, so I am beyond happy to find a substitute that is of this quality. Sure, it may seem expensive at nearly $9, but well worth every penny. Since I don’t eat these items every day, the cost isn’t that bad, and certainly saves me time from having to make things from scratch.
Not sure why there are any negative reviews, because obviously I wasn’t expecting it to be 100% like the real thing, but it comes so close. I would liken the texture to perhaps bread that is a day past it’s expiration, but once you toast it and load with toppings, it’s just so great.
I can’t wait for it to warm up outside so I can break out the grill for a hamburger or hotdog.
Store in a freezer and take out as needed. Not difficult to separate slices.
-
March 17, 2019Reviewer: Crystal in New York* Cinnamon bread - are you kidding me!? I was SOO excited for this because I love cinnamon bread toasted with butter, so to find this was great.
I toasted a slice and put some butter on it. It wasn’t awful, but definitely wasn’t the real thing. I found I didn’t much care for it on its own, so thought, what can I do to make this great!? The answer, French toast of course.
I whisked an egg with some cream, and a little more cinnamon and fried the slice. Topped with sugar free syrup and hand whipped cream and OH MY GOODNESS, it was just like the real thing.
This bread has definitely made it possible for me to complete my weekly breakfast for dinner meal with French toast, which I desperately missed since starting keto.
Will absolutely buy again and again.

March 01, 2019Reviewer: Teresa in Missouri* The full size sliced bread is on my order each time. However, I opted for the Thin Sliced Everything bread this time, and I am so very pleased. This bread is very filling so the full sized slices meant that it was impossible to eat a sandwich made with two slices of bread. Now, I can have two thin slices and enjoy grilled cheese again. January 26, 2019Reviewer: A customer in Maryland* I have been looking for a low carb rye bread without success until I found this on Netrition. As low carb breads go, this is pretty good. It is impossible to recreate the exact texture of regular bread in a low carb version, but this one gets closer than anything else I have tried. And for just ONE net carb per slice, it fills my need for bread. I love it toasted with almond butter. It is a bit pricey, but I am the only one eating it, and it is well worth the price for me. The higher fiber also keeps me full longer when paired with a protein such as almond butter. I will be purchasing this again. This review is specific to Bread, Rye

1 of 1 people found the following review helpfulJanuary 06, 2019Reviewer: Susan in Virginia* Ok so I gave this a four because no low carb sub is going to taste just like bread. I ordered about 100 dollars worth of this companies breads for my family. Initially i was a little turned off by the spongy texture which toasting in a toaster made no better. (I'm assuming becasue of the fiber) However I really felt moistness (don't cringe) was missing-so I melted butter and brushed it on generously on a bun-sprinkled the buttered side with onion powder then toasted them on my griddle and oh my, my burger tasted exquisite compared to my previous attempts with this bread. I now employ this technique for making toast, bagels, etcetera and now deeply appreciate this bread. So if you have trouble with that dry cello sponge like texture, before giving up on it, try it grilled after brushing on melted butter- i also just tried spreading the butter- but the melted butter just seeps in a bit better. Either way the marked improvement flavor and texture wise at a 1g carb casualty is totally worth it!This review is specific to Bread, Plain

December 18, 2018Reviewer: Linda in Arizona* I received my first loaf of low carb bread in the thin slice plain. It makes it so nice to be able to have a grilled cheese sandwich again. Does anybody know how long these loaves will last in the freezer? I only ordered 1 loaf last time. but if it will last in the freezer a couple weeks, I would order more to save on shipping so often. Good product
Editors note: This low carb bread is kept frozen in our Netrition warehouse until the day it ships. It is strongly recommended to freeze this product upon receipt. It should last up to 6 months.

December 17, 2018Reviewer: Esther in Washington* I did a taste test of different products at the same time - here's my overall review!
I purchased Mountain Berry, Strawberry, and Blueberry at the same time and rate them in the same order as my favorites. The Blueberry was my least favorite, and the boyfriend agreed in my rankings but thought the Blueberry was still good, maybe more intense. We tried the jams on three different breads: (1) Chompies Carbs Not! High Protein Bread, Cinnamon Raisin, (2) Chompies Carbs Not! High Protein Bread, Multigrain, and (3) Great Low Carb Bread Company Bread, Plain. They tasted great too and our roommate who eats normal bread thought the Mountain Berry jam was great with the breads too!

November 21, 2018Reviewer: A customer in Illinois* Love that this bread is thin sliced...it is perfect for sandwiches. It does not effect my glucose levels. It may not taste exactly like the high carb version of bread but is so much better than not having any bread at all. It does taste pretty good as a french toast and great for making bread pudding. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpfulSeptember 17, 2018Reviewer: Kristina in Texas* Someone else wrote exactly what I was thinking. I don't know if it's because these are frozen, thawed, refrozen, etc., but they are terribly dry and stale. I have tried toasting, microwaving lightly, (30 seconds at half power), drowning in butter and pan frying, and they are still dry and stale. It doesn't matter how much you chew, it doesn't get less dry, and it feels like you're trying to swallow paper. September 10, 2018Reviewer: Susan J. in Ohio* I don't know if it's because the bread is initially frozen, then thawed during shipment. then frozen again, and then thawed to use it. But, EVERY loaf I have tried ends up being so hard that I can only eat PART of it. I even tried lightly toasting it, to no avail. I definitely will NOT try the other bread products. I should have known it was too good to be true that you could eat bread on a low carb diet. This review is specific to Bread, Plain

August 18, 2018Reviewer: Alexandra in Massachusetts* Got my first loaf in the mail yesterday. Started my Keto diet on Monday and was missing bread. This is going to be great. The bread arrived bubble wrapped and FRESH/Soft. Fantastic. And because I read from other reviewers (and instructions in box) I knew to freeze it immediately. The suggestion I read of putting 2 slices ea in freezer bags was a great idea. This way I only take out what I need when I need. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpfulAugust 13, 2018Reviewer: Aisha in South Carolina* Oh wow are these awful. So awful. I am so off this recreating favorites into low carb wanna be miracles. Even though I have substituted so many of my favorites, and actually enjoy them, these are ridiculously awful. Are we that unable to regulate how much processed food we consume that we turn to this $8 bag of cardboard? These are not enjoyable. All of these bagels taste exactly the same. I purchased the cinnamon, everything and multigrain and the difference in taste between them all is unbelievably minimal to be so varied. The bread is just the same. its not enjoyable.
The breakdown--they all taste like spongy cardboard. Spongy wet cardboard. They toast, but if they toast brown, forget it--it is quite literally like spearing peanut butter on a piece of textured cardboard. On top top of that they do well with just cream cheese, peanut butter or any other spread. I then decided to use these for breakfast sandwiches and that is where they are most useful.
I have used substitutes for favorites that contain flour for at least 2 years now, and my tastes have adapted well to the substitutions but these, no. Enjoy your favorites on occasion and in moderation folks. If you eat well and exercise, you can enjoy a regular bagel on occasion without panicking. Investing $8 to $18 on 6 spongy cardboard diskettes doesnt make much sense and I regret the decision. On top of shipping? Its Illogical. Fully regret buying these.
Dont recommend. Go enjoy a real bagel or some real bread in moderation. Limit processed carbs, eat good ones and everything will be alright.

August 06, 2018Reviewer: Melody in Tennessee* This bread was pretty good. I am doing the low carb Keto diet so regular bread is off limits. It was nice to be able to have a sandwich even though the bread is a little spongy. It’s the only bread I have seen that can get wet and you can squeeze the water out and it goes right back to original shape. Makes me wonder how long it sits in your stomach, but still better than no bread for now. This review is specific to Bread, Plain

July 23, 2018Reviewer: Shayna in Florida* Out of all the other 'low carb' bread varieties, this tastes the most like real bread and relieves ones other choices in consuming 'flat bread'- I think having "flat" anything to consume, would come off as un-appetizing when one thinks of bread anyways! Wish this website also offered a deal on The Great Low Carb Bread's Pumpernickel or Rye ''THIN SLICED'' bread. Ordered directly from this company prior, (GLCB), and paid a boat-load in shipping/handling fees. GREAT that Netrition offered free shipping when I ordered through this website! I have yet to toast/consume/fry up the thin sliced varieties I purchased and will come back and grade them. Taste is great, regular sliced bread size is pretty good too. Hoping the thin sliced bread won't fall apart too easily, etc, when working with it. Have to freeze it once it arrives (or eat it up.. heh heh). So we'll see... Thank You Netrition! This review is specific to Bread, Everything

May 17, 2018Reviewer: A guest* What an amazing addition to Keto life!!! I was very skeptical.. both about the flavor and mostly about it honestly not interfering with my ketosis scale, But wow was I surprised to find I remained in full ketosis after eating this AND continued to lose weight. While I plan to use this somewhat sparingly and not go hog wild I am sooooooooooooooooo grateful for the way this opens up menu's for the better. I LOVE the rye bread the best. it has full rye flavor and I have no sense of eating a 'diet' bread in any way. I plan to continue to purchase this in future.

May 03, 2018Reviewer: Jessica in Colorado* I have tried my share of bread alternatives in the Keto and Paleo realms. This doesn't hold up for a bread replacement, if that's what you are looking for. The smell and texture of it is really close to regular white bread, however, when you bite into it, it feels like it's fighting against the saliva in your mouth rather than working with it. Immediately you get this feeling that it's going to take some effort to eat it. The taste is unique, not what you would expect from the smell. I am going to try and use the remaining loaf for a low carb bread pudding and see if that helps, but I'm not so hopeful. This review is specific to Bread, Plain

April 26, 2018Reviewer: Hazel in California* I have tried several varieties of the breads, bagels, and pizza crusts. The sesame bread is the most tolerable for me. Anything that is sweetened has a terrible artificial sweetener taste, so much so that I threw all of those items away. The everything bagels and bread are good too but if you toast these things you better load it up with butter or something else because it takes on the texture of a sanding block, the roof of your mouth may be sore afterwards. I will actually reorder the sesame bread, and have. It makes a decent sandwich and is soft when not toasted.

April 03, 2018Reviewer: Jill in California* I love love love love this company’s bread! I bought plain, and sour dough as I remembered liking them years ago- they are still wonderful!! I also bought a loaf of the thin plain and OMG I freakin love them!! I saw some reviews somewhere that people complained that they fell apart and the edges burned when they attempted to toast them, but that is not the case AT ALL! I’m currently eating a toasted breakfast sandwich made from them as I type this... not falling apart, didn’t burn while toasting etc. Definitely ordering these again

March 30, 2018Reviewer: Chrissy in Pennsylvania* I’ve been eating this for over a year while on the keto diet. It’s the best replacement for bread lovers. For sandwiches, I’ll put it between 2 paper towels to defrost. Instead of toasting, I’ll bake it at 300° For a few minutes. I find that toasting the bread makes it too hard. Of course it doesn’t taste as great as regular bread, but if you can’t live without bread - its better then anything! I’ve only tried and love: plain, sourdough, rye, pumpernickel, everything and cinnamon.

January 27, 2018Reviewer: Crystal in New Jersey* I've tried variety of low carb diets in the past 10 years and so far, the taste and consistency of this bread has been the best and the closest to the taste and texture of regular bread. I've been on and off low carb diets to manage weight for the better part of past 15 years and having a bread product that was also low carb has always made sticking to the diet much easier. January 13, 2018Reviewer: A customer in Colorado* Not as close to regular bread as I had hoped. I'm adjusting to The Taste. But it is nice to have a grilled cheese sandwich again. I might become more accustomed to The taste of this bread over time. Texture is good but I don't think it makes good toast in a toaster. Because I'm the only one in the household that is low carb, I buy several loaves at one time (Pumpernickel is my favorite) and keep them in the freezer. Whenever I want to have a sandwich, I just pull out a couple of slices without worrying about the bread getting old and it always tastes fresh.

September 27, 2017Reviewer: Jerica in Missouri* This bread is horrible! To be specific, the cinnamon and pumpkin spice are horrible. I haven't tried any other flavors and I don't think I will. It's not edible. I'm not a picky eater at all. I can usually get through anything, even if I don't like it, just so I don't waste my purchase. But I just could not!! I tried everything and nothing works. I tossed both of them. Maybe the good reviews come from the unflavored bread. September 09, 2017Reviewer: Shawn in South Carolina* Low carb bread, any low carb bread, is worth trying. The flavor is decent with only a little aftertaste. The bread is a little more chewy than regular bread but still a great substitute. My main issue is when I buy bread for $8, it would be nice if 90% of the slices didn't have large holes in them. I wanted to make grilled cheese which is pretty hard to do with the holes. I got the thin sliced so don't know if that is the issue. I plan to try the regular next time and hope it's better. I feel like the regular is too thick and the thin is too thin. Can I just have normal size slices?? I guess not. This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Plain

September 05, 2017Reviewer: Kevin in Colorado* Almost heavenly, this bread tastes just like traditional sandwich bread! I have tried others, all had a bad texture, or a bad taste. July 25, 2017Reviewer: Maria in California* I'll be honest. I wasn't sure what to expect. I've never had super low carb bread outside whole wheat store shelf bread before and especially not bread that's made of whey protein and oat fiber. I'm a bariatric patient and pre-surgery i could any types of bread. Post surgery it's a whole other ballgame. Any type of bread makes me sick and is really painful going down. While it is not a part of my everyday life, i do like the occasional breakfast sandwich and when i saw this bread i decided to give it a try.
Especially since it's so low in carbs. Well i was honestly super surprised. The bread tastes really good and has this interesting flavor to it that reminds me of this homemade biscotti like thing my family makes. The slices are tiny but for someone like me they're super filling, and really easy to store and use. This has definitely saved me from having to go out and buy all kinds of low carb/keto ingredients to make my own bread at home. I'm so excited to try the rest of the GLCBC's other line of products. Will definitely be back for more. :)

July 24, 2017Reviewer: Jack in Maryland* Great bread, but what product is in this bread to justify $8 per loaf

July 21, 2017Reviewer: Brianna in California* These are fabulous. Almost as good as the real thing. A great bargain, both calorically and in terms of carb content. Highly recommend. Love, love, love! This review is specific to Bread, Plain

July 21, 2017Reviewer: Brendan in California* Very good taste. I'm doing the keto life style and was missing bread. They are thin slices but they are just enough to enjoy a sandwich and it's only 1 carb for 2 slices. This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Plain

July 18, 2017Reviewer: Ginger in South Carolina* I just received my first order yesterday, and the Everything Bread from the Great Low Carb Bread Company was the first thing I wanted to try. I had read several great reviews about it ,as well as some of the other flavors of their bread, and felt confident that this would be a good choice. I was not disappointed! After really missing out on bread for so long, I had planned to slowly cook a crispy, golden grilled cheese with it, but I honestly couldn't wait. So I popped two slices in the toaster and smeared on some real butter when they were done. It was delicious! And at 1 carb per slice, there's no guilt! I will be placing an order this week for another loaf, as well as the Sourdough variety, and maybe more. I do not want to run out! All of this writing about that delicious bread has made me want some more-time to go make that grilled cheese....This review is specific to Bread, Everything

July 14, 2017Reviewer: A guest* You can actually enjoy a regular sandwich with this bread which you can't really do with Julian`s Bakery paleo bread which is too eggy and has an overwhelming taste of baking soda/powder. The only negative would be that it's a bit chewy. Will try to order the bread in the colder months to see if there's a difference in taste without the enzyme blend. This bread would also be perfect if it had less sodium. This review is specific to Bread, Sourdough

July 12, 2017Reviewer: A customer in Idaho* Will always have this on hand, as it allows me to eat something other than meat and cheese rolls. Sandwiches are so handy on occasion, and this fills the bill! Just pull out what you need, pop in microwave for 15 seconds. The rest will stay fresh in the freezer. I will pull a couple pieces out and pop into a ziploc baggie for work, etc. Have eaten grilled cheese, pb&j (sugar-free jelly, of course!), and still lost weight. I've purchased the everything, sourdough, pumpkin spice, and cinnamon. I eat the sweet breads topped with whipped cream cheese spread for a sweet treat. I want to NEVER run out of Everything or Sourdough as they are so versatile. The Great Low Carb Bread Company has made my low carb life so much easier!!!

July 08, 2017Reviewer: Martha in Florida* I toasted a slice of cinnamon bread, wondering why it was called cinnamon bread. Buttered the toast and was disappointed. July 03, 2017Reviewer: Alberta in Maryland* I have been ordering thin sliced low carb bread from the Great Low Carb Bread Company for years. It is a wonderful substitute for the real thing. I mostly have slices with an egg in the morning or in a PBJ. I have lately ordered the regular plain bread to make French toast (which I missed tremendously on a low carb diet). Delicious. Also, if a recipe calls for bread crumbs, I toast some slices and run them through the food processor. Love this product. This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Everything

-
July 01, 2017Reviewer: Beth in Illinois* I was hesitant to spend $8 plus shipping for bread, but I will do it again. It doesn't taste like regular bread and is odd but it almost tricks you if you toast it and load it with peanut butter. For only 1 net carb, I would say it is excellent. I haven't found any bread even close to that low carb! This review is specific to Bread, Plain

June 30, 2017Reviewer: A guest* So I admit it......I love bread.....I live for bread, and when, for health reasons, I had to drastically reduce my carbs, I thought I was lost. Enter Great Low Carb Bread Company. I started with their bagels and dinner rolls which did wonders to reduce my cravings....but then, the other day, I saw they actually had sourdough and I jumped on it. No.....it isn't the deep sour flavor that I would normally prefer, but this bread is really good.....I have been having to fight my non-carb restricted family members for it....so when you order it, order 2 loaves and hide one for yourself. This review is specific to Bread, Sourdough

June 19, 2017Reviewer: Christine in South Carolina* My freezer is filled with these loaves. All the time. When I get close to running out, I order more! They are a godsend. I am low-carb for the long haul (I have PCOS), and before I discovered GLCBC bread I'd though sandwiches were a thing of the past for me. Every flavor they make is great. Sourdough is my favorite. The bread is a bit chewy if you try to just defrost it and eat it, so I generally toast it for a nice crunch. The carb count is definitely accurate, and I love getting to have sandwiches!

May 01, 2017Reviewer: Donald in Indiana* I bought a loaf of the bread which, after slathering butter on it, really doesn't taste that bad. The problem with it is that almost the whole loaf had an air pocket or something when they baked it so I was missing 1/2 a loaf right down the center of the bread! So, I would recommend it if you didn't get ripped off but would not if half a loaf is how they do business!!This review is specific to Bread, Sourdough

April 25, 2017Reviewer: Holly in Kentucky* This product is a life-saver. I have been eating 25 net carbs a day or less since October and was really craving bread. I have tried several low carb brands, but this is hands-down the best bread available for those of us doing low carbs. We have ordered the plain and cinnamon breads plus the hamburger buns. No more missing cinnamon toast or a juicy grilled burger on a bun or a BLT!
-
April 23, 2017Reviewer: Deborah in Pennsylvania* I love this low carb bread. I've had the rye and everything flavors, both are delicious. I try to limit my carb intake but I do love to have some toast once and awhile and this bread is great without all the carbs.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpfulMarch 13, 2017Reviewer: Rebecca in Texas* I like the bread, but it makes my blood sugar really high. I tried it 3 times. All 3 times my sugar was around 151 2 hours after I ate it. First time I made a fried egg sandwich. Second and third time I just ate 2 pieces of toast made from it with some butter on it. All three times my sugars were high and usually it's in the 90's 2 hours after I eat. I sure was looking forward to being able to have sandwiches again, but can't use this bread. This review is specific to Bread, Everything

February 28, 2017Reviewer: Marsha in New Mexico* This product is a very acceptable replacement for almost any sandwich bread. It is NOT perfect and people looking for a perfect substitute will be disappointed. The spongy, chewy texture is noticeably different from that of regular white bread but if one is prepared to accept it then it will serve quite well. I use it plain with pimiento cheese filling and it toasts very nicely in a grilled cheese. I did find it very important to drink plenty of fluid with any meal using this bread as it is mostly indigestible fiber. It keeps best in the freezer. I remove 3-4 slices at a time and store them in a ziploc bag in the fridge, leaving the remaining loaf in the freezer. This review is specific to Bread, Plain
-
February 21, 2017Reviewer: Richard in New York* Love these. Make great sandwiches. I have used the Everything and the Sourdough. Make you not miss traditional bread at all. I cannot tell the difference between this bread and traditional bread other than the price and the much lower grams of carbs per slice.
-
February 20, 2017Reviewer: Jake in Colorado* Wonderful alternative to bread, high in protein and very, very low in net carbs. Calorie count is perfect as well, I can put more lunch meat on my sandwich!
The pumpkin spice is much sweeter than expected and made wonderful french toast. The cinnamon is lacking in the sweet department (at least compared to the pumpkin), but was still delicious with a thin layer of peanut butter. The sourdough is my favorite as it actually tastes like sourdough! The plain is perfect as sandwich bread and is the one I usually order very consistently.

January 27, 2017Reviewer: Margaret in Georgia* Must be eaten while still warm and toasty... that said, this is very good, satisfying bread, especially considering it is low-carb. Wasn't crazy about the rye, but the white and sesame were excellent. I'm ordering them again, and going to try the cinnamon next.
-
January 27, 2017Reviewer: Katie in Maryland* This bread is great. It's tasty and great for sandwiches. I toast it a little bit. The crust gets bad if you toast it for too long. I can't believe it's only 1 net carb. My only real complaint is that it sits pretty heavy in my stomach. That doesn't stop me from getting more though. We are almost done with our plain loaf and I have a cinnamon and everything on the way. This review is specific to Bread, Plain

January 11, 2017Reviewer: Catherine in Texas* Excellent products. Great alone with butter or margarine, toasted or untoasted, for holding food or as snack. Pumpernickel, Rye and Hot Dog buns are my favorite though haven't tried onion pockets or dinner rolls. Hamburger buns excellent with burgers, absorb condiments well. Favorite application for hot dog buns is untoasted with margarine for complement to a salad as partial protein - dinner rolls probably are the same. Pumpernickel bread is even nice alone toasted, no butter. All wonderful with stews and such, absorbing liquids fillingly.

December 19, 2016Reviewer: LEah in Alabama* What a great splurge for my lchf lifestyle. Delicious grilled cheeses made with plain bread. Cinnamon bread toasted with almond/coconut butter is such a treat. Cheese toast in the broiler is tasty too. The bread is dense and a bit dry so eating it straight from the bag isn't desirable.

December 17, 2016Reviewer: Tara in New Jersey* My 13 year-old son is on the modified atkins diet for seizures, and he loves making toast from the plain or cinnamon variety of thin and regular bread. He was having a hard time adjusting to the diet, and these bread products made things so much better. We also use the bread in other recipes, like meatballs. It helps us adapt a bunch of recipes so he has more options. This review is specific to Bread, Cinnamon

November 22, 2016Reviewer: margie in Texas* Been low carb for several years and still crave bread at times, especially toast for breakfast. After multiple attempts to make low carb bread, and lots of dollars spent trying to buy a good low carb bread, I have to say this is the best I have tried. I bought the sourdough; Its not regular bread, but it is good, a bit chewy but a heck of a lot better than any of the other attempts or brands. It is better than the low cal "lite" mainstream bread, and it has very few carbs. My next purchase will be rye so I can make a Reuben sandwich. A little pricey, but a loaf will last me at least a month, so it's ok. And if it keeps me from going on a binge and blowing my blood sugars, it is worth it.This review is specific to Bread, Sourdough

November 14, 2016Reviewer: Wanda in Virginia* Thank heavens I found this bread. I love being able to eat sandwiches again without causing damage to my weight loss efforts. I have tried pumpkin, rye, sourdough, plain and love them all. The pumpkin works great for French toast. No it is not the same as fresh sliced bread but it does give a great substitute .My favorite way is to lightly butter each side and throw on a griddle then add some jam. Makes great grilled cheese as well.
-
November 13, 2016Reviewer: Samantha in Virginia* My favorite flavor is the sourdough, and I believe it is the closest match to the 'real deal'. I tried Plain and Everything, but those flavors taste a bit off in my opinion. The sourdough flavor is excellent warmed up with melted cheese inside. This review is specific to Bread, Sourdough

1 of 1 people found the following review helpfulNovember 12, 2016Reviewer: A guest* I am surprised at all the positive reviews. My loaf arrived in good condition, it was not moldy or stale like some of the reviews claim. I toasted a slice and ate it with Le Muinier butter (some of the best butter in the world) and the bread was dry, very light without much body, no sourdough flavor or any flavor really, and it was kind of tough and chewy in a bad way. After one slice I had no desire to eat another and will most likely throw the loaf away. I guess I will try it not toasted just to give it a fair chance in case it may be better that way but my guess is it will be worse. I would give this bread a grade of D, and that is only because I have tried a low carb sponge like bread once that was not edible. To show I am not just being negative to products on this site I love Mama Lupe's low carb tortilla's and give them a grade of A. I use them as a pizza crust and bake it for 10 min @425º , it is crispy and flakey and wonderful. This review is specific to Bread, Sourdough

October 31, 2016Reviewer: Donna in Ohio* I thought the taste and texture of the bread was good for low carb bread. I purchased the thin sliced loaf, but would not the next time. It was too thin and every time I toasted it, it would burn. The price is a little high as well. October 18, 2016Reviewer: Janet in Florida* My favorite breakfast. 1). toast 2 slices thin sliced plain GLC bread. (toaster oven) or 1 slice pumpkin spice 2.) Mix 1/2 cup plain pumpkin with 1 scoop vanilla protein powder and 1/2 cup Daisy cottage cheese and sweetener to taste and sprinkle of salt and cinnamon Mix well or blend pile on toasts or use half and save half for snack. I use a knife and fork but you can dip the toast in like a dip. 27 gm protein 5 gm fat about 24 gm carbThis review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Plain

October 16, 2016Reviewer: Tami in Ohio* When I started a low carb lifestyle I thought I was going to have to give up bread forever. This bread is amazing. I have ordered the sesame, rye, pumpernickel, pumpkin spice, plain and thin sliced plain and thin sliced everything. The thin sliced breads are absolutely wonderful for making grilled cheese sammies.

October 15, 2016Reviewer: Karen in Tennessee* I have eaten low carb for 3 yrs. For the last few months I've added this bread to my diet and really enjoy it as a special treat. I usually put about 6 pieces in a ziplock bag & keep it in the refrigerator and leave the rest in the freezer. I've never had any bread go bad and I stretch out my usage this way. I usually toast my bread and top with lots of butter or peanut butter. I've tried both thin & regular slices & multiple flavors & have never been unhappy!

October 11, 2016Reviewer: Stacie in Pennsylvania* This is the best Low Carb Bread we have ever had. We love it because one it last longer than the thicker version, and two it seems it's competitor Love the Taste bread gets very dry and crunchy when toasted, this one doesn't do that. Its just so darn delicious. Grilled cheese sandwiches is out of this world good on the thin bread also. I can't say enough how much we love this bread. My fiancé and I ate this bread every day so far on our low carb diet that we started on January 4, 2016. I have lost 85 lbs. and he has lost 90 lbs. It must be good for you, and as low in carbs as they say it is.This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Everything

October 08, 2016Reviewer: Misty in California* I love this bread .. No it's not "exactly" like normal bread but it is really close! I don't mind the flavor and the texture isn't like some of those other " low carb" breads which are spongy. This bread actually toasts like real toast and it doesn't affect my blood sugar like bread.. I did a read out every 10 minutes.. As follows 88,87,90,96,96,93 so that's the hour following eating 1 plain slice of this bread .. Its a miracle bread .. I'm glad I found it .. I haven't tried the bagels or anything else yet .. But I will soon :)This review is specific to Bread, Plain

October 08, 2016Reviewer: A guest* No this is not Wonder bread! But who wants that fake fluffy white bread that raises your blood sugar? I love this bread and actually tested my blood sugar pre, one and two hours post eating two slices of the plain white brad and again after eating the buttery breadsticks. No blood sugar spikes and remained in ketosis. Yes it's a bit pricey but well worth money to stay healthy. I will definitely be using this bread more and plan to try the bagels as well.

October 06, 2016Reviewer: Kimberly in Maryland* I don't know what's wrong with these people that's giving negative reviews but this bread is the best. The best low carb bread I've ever tried. I toast it with real butter on top of the stove, put my sugar free strawberry preserves on top, the bread was delicious. No after taste, no cardboard taste...just buttery, toasted, delicious bread. 2 carbs for 2 slices....AWESOME!! Expensive, but worth me staying on my low carb plan. This review is specific to Bread, Rye

October 05, 2016Reviewer: Cynthia in New York* This is the second product I've tried from this company, first was bagels and now the everything bread. Dense and a terrible taste. I thought I would give it another try as it gets so many good reviews and maybe it was just the bagels. Small slice, came misshapen, doesn't taste good in my book. I can probably make french toast or bread crumbs with it to salvage the money spent.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpfulSeptember 29, 2016Reviewer: Rebecca in California* This is the BEST low carb bread. It especially shines in grilled cheese--it grills up beautifully. Taste and texture are almost perfect when compared to "real" (carby) bread. It feels so good to be able to have bread again. This bread is exceptional. This review is specific to Bread, Sourdough

1 of 1 people found the following review helpfulSeptember 27, 2016Reviewer: Patricia in Tennessee* I have tried many of the Great Low Carb Bread Company's products, and I find them very useful for my husband and me to help us have the variety we want in our low-carb way of eating. I especially like to toast the thin bread, both the plain and the everything flavors, by buttering it and putting it in the oven. It comes out nicely crisp and is perfect to make a BLT or a ham/egg/cheese sandwich (or two!) for breakfast. The thicker bread makes great grilled cheese sandwiches and we like it for a patty melt, also. We prefer it toasted; we do not care to eat it straight from the bag. Please keep in mind that if your taste in bread is or has been a "wonder" type of taste, as mine was before we adopted low-carb eating, then it will be an adjustment for you to change over to this bread. However, this bread enables us to have a sandwich or a couple of pieces of toast with our breakfast or some garlic bread with our Italian meals, and still have control of our carbs (not to mention blood sugar levels), so we were happy to make the adjustment and are delighted that the Great Low Carb Bread Company meets our needs with their products.

September 27, 2016Reviewer: Jessica in Arkansas* My daughter is on a Modified Atkins (ketogenic) diet. She was 5 when she was put on this diet, so you can imagine how hard it was to take away all of her favorite things, bread being one of them. I was so thankful to find products from the Great Low Carb Bread Company. At only 0.5 g carb per slice, the thin sliced plain is our go to bread for toast, sandwiches, garlic bread, etc. This product has helped in the transition and maintenance of her very special diet that has in turn helped reduce my daughter's seizures! This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Plain

September 26, 2016Reviewer: A customer in Washington* I've enjoyed the bite into bread without the guilt. 1 carb per slice. My favorite loaves are the sourdough, plain and cinnamon. I actually really like the taste of these. Tried another low carb bread brand but these have a good texture and taste way better. Not like store bought bread by any means. Just a great find when you're restricted from sugar and carbs. I recommend trying out one loaf then you be the judge. This review is specific to Bread, Sourdough

September 21, 2016Reviewer: John in Florida* This is the BEST low carb bread in existence and I've tried a ton of them. I've even used it during the first weeks of low carb dieting and it does not affect ketosis. It adds tons of fiber as well so it's an excellent diet addition. I nearly always get the thin plain, but have had the regular plain as well which is good, but because it's a dense bread, I prefer the thin. It also DOES toast well which most do not.

September 20, 2016Reviewer: A customer in Texas* Even though I ordered with special cooling shipping the bread arrived full of mold. You cannot expect customers to pay $30+ for overnight shipping on a product of this value. Extremely disappointed. This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Plain

August 20, 2016Reviewer: Joel in New Jersey* I am pleased with this bread. Is it as good as a non low carb rye bread? Of course not, but as others have written, that would be impossible. It has the flavor and aroma (probably due to the carroway seeds) of regular rye bread and if lightly toasted the texture is ok. I gave it five stars because it totally fulfills its purpose of allowing those of us who restrict our carbs to have a good substitute for the real thing. This review is specific to Bread, Rye

August 07, 2016Reviewer: Sue in Connecticut* Fantastic bread! I'm not a big sandwich eater but I love to have a slice or 2 of buttered toast on the weekend with my coffee or with eggs. This is great tasting, real bread! I got the thin sliced and I although it's very good, it tends to toast unevenly leading to some burned areas, so now I'm ordering just the plain. Highly recommend. This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Plain

August 01, 2016Reviewer: James in Illinois* I love this Bread from the Great Low Carb Bread Company. I always get the thin sliced now to cut carbs even further. It works great as toast - on a low setting. Not only fine for sandwiches but they are easy to use as Hot Dog and Hamburger buns too! This review is specific to Bread, Thin Sliced Plain

June 23, 2016Reviewer: Laura in Maryland* Delicious. It has a nice soft texture for sandwiches or toasts up nice. I've tried the cinnamon, which I like, but it doesn't have a strong cinnamon flavor. I tend to stick with the plain because it's versatile. I really like it and have ordered it several times.

June 16, 2016Reviewer: Lynne in Arkansas* Well, it looks like rye bread and even tastes a little like it, but not too much. I would describe the texture as tough and chewy. This makes it better if toasted. If you never eat bread, finding this at 1 carb per slice, is a miracle, and you may have already forgotten what real rye bread tastes like, anyway. The bread also has a strange and slight sweet taste. I didn't like this as, to me, rye bread should have no sweetness at all. Meh. It's something different. I doubt I would buy it again. This review is specific to Bread, Rye

June 09, 2016Reviewer: Jessica in Minnesota* BEST. BREAD. EVER. I am so happy to be having bread again! Grilled cheese sandwiches, toast, French toast. I am so happy. I've tried the Rye and the Sourdough and they are both amazing. It would be terrific if it wasn't $8 a loaf, but it's just so great to have delicious bread again it's worth it!
